A GARDEN OF ROSES
"Life is not a garden of
roses"
Seers and poets take care to explain;
It is comprised not only of pleasure and joy
But also of suffering and pain.
In reality, life is a rose garden,
For ever since man first was born,
For the beauty and perfume to fully enjoy,
One must sometimes encounter a thorn.
Christ's life was a beautiful rose garden;
Love, joy and peace like sweet petals,he spread;
Man stripped Him of His majesty
And a crown of thorns placed upon His head.
Lord, I thank-you for the roses
With their rare beauty and perfume sweet,
And for the thorns that brought me to my knees
In repentance at your feet.
