God's Presence

One day when doubts beset me,
I walked through a garden, fair,
Looked into the heart of a flower
And sensed that God was there.

With a heart still heavy
With the burden of unbelief;
I traced the very existence of God
In the veins of a fallen leaf.

Still doubting, I strolled through a forest,
Where the trees stood tall and grand;
I knew they had been planted
By God's almighty hand.

So vile felt I and unworthy,
With God's presence all around;
I accepted His plan of salvation,
And now walk with Him on Holy Ground.
