|The Christmas Story
The Christmas story did not unfold,
When Joseph sought shelter from the cold;
And Mary gave birth to a baby small.
And lovingly placed him in the stall.
The Christmas story did not
When the shepherds heard the angels sing;
When the Wise Men followed the eastern star
Bringing gifts to the Christ-child from afar.
The Christmas story was not
When the shepherds knelt at the Christ-child's feet;
When the Wise Men with their wealth untold
Brought myrrh and frankincense and gold.
The Christmas is from eternity;
It always was and always will be;
Right through Christ's life, past Calvary,
Where He died on the cross for you and me.
In the Christmas story you may
have a part;
Repent of your sins and give God your heart;
Worship not only the babe in the stall,
But the Christ on the cross, who died for all.
